Why graphene?
Graphene being two-dimensional material, offers unique friction and wear properties that is not typically seen in conventional materials. Besides its well-established thermal, electrical, optical, and mechanical properties, graphene can serve as a solid or colloidal liquid lubricant. Its high chemical inertness, extreme strength, and easy shear capability on its densely packed and atomically smooth surface are the major favorable attributes for its impressive tribological behavior. Since it is ultrathin even with multi layers, it can be applied to nano-scale or micro-scale systems such as microelectromechanical systems (MEMS) and nanoelectromechnical systems (NEMS) with oscillating, rotating, and sliding contacts to reduce stiction, friction, and wear.
First of all, the extreme mechanical strength of graphene suppresses material wear. For example, Lee et al. [5] tested the mechanical properties of graphene and confirmed it to be one of the strongest materials ever measured. For their study, the authors used free-standing graphene membranes and analyzed them with a diamond atomic force microscopy (AFM) probe, which allowed measuring the breaking strength. The measured strength of defect-free graphene sheet corresponds to a Young’s modulus of 1 TPa. The breaking force depends on the tip radius, not the diameter of the membrane. Moreover, it was shown recently that the grain boundaries do not affect the overall strength of graphene [6], even though the introduction of other kinds of defects (such as oxidation) largely contributes to the mechanical properties of graphene and decreases its strength and stiffness. From a tribological point of view, such extreme mechanical strength is highly desirable for wear protection.
Secondly, graphene has been shown to be impermeable to liquids and gases [7], such as water or oxygen, thus slowing down the corrosive and oxidative processes that usually cause more damage to rubbing surfaces. Moreover, liquid water has been shown to minimize friction on graphene [8], thus presumably limiting the effect of capillary forces typical of humid environments. Singh et al. [8] demonstrated that the wetting angle is affected by the surface underneath the graphene layer; however, the effect of the substrate is modified by the number of layers and is negligible for multiple layers of graphene. Also, graphene is an atomically smooth two-dimensional material with low surface energy and is, therefore, able to replace the thin solid films usually used for reducing adhesion and friction of various surfaces.
All the properties mentioned above make graphene very attractive for demanding tribological applications to achieve low friction and low wear regimes.

GunnY
JUICE

Gunny Juice Polycrystalline Diamond Emulsion (Suspension) is a very effective method of honing and polishing the cutting edge of the knife. Gunny Juice is created through a proprietary deionization process offering agglomerate-free dispersion of diamond particles for submicron grits. In conjunction with a very tight particle size distribution, the process permits scratch-free polishing results. Gunny Juice is available in many grits in 10 ml and 30 ml volumes. The diamond suspension can be used with any strop made of leather, balsa, or nano cloth. To use, simply pump the desired amount of suspension on your stropping medium, spread evenly, let dry, then use as usual. You will not be able to fully remove the compound after applying it to the strop. If you want to use your strop both with and without compound, you must, therefore, keep one side clean. If you want to switch between one compound and another, consider buying an extra strop. Compound residue accumulates in the leather during stropping. If stropping performance gets worse, remove the residue with a knife spine or special tool, and apply the fresh compound.

GUNNY
GLIDE

Gunny Glide is a revolutionary graphene/h-BN based lubricant designed to work on all surfaces. Graphene and hexagonal boron nitride are two-dimensional one-atom-thick materials.

Graphene, a single layer of carbon atoms, is 200x stronger than steel and has more lubricity than any single material known. Graphene when suspended in a lubricant and applied to a surface will burnish itself to that surface. It not only fills any pores or defects in a surface but burnishes to in a sense become part of that surface. This allows the lubricant to become better the more two parts slide across one another. Graphene offers superior lubrication and surface wear protection. Gunny Glide also offers outstanding protection against corrosion.

Boron Nitride is a thermally and chemically resistant refractory compound of boron and nitrogen with the chemical formula BN. It exists in various crystalline forms that are isoelectronic to a similarly structured carbon lattice. The hexagonal form corresponding to graphite is the most stable and soft among BN polymorphs, and is therefore used as a lubricant and an additive to products. Using h-Boron Nitride adds chemical stability to the product while also enhancing lubricant capabilities.

What’s the difference in Gunny Glide and other graphene lubricants? Graphene is generally just added to a lubricant and shaking is required in order to suspend it for use. In Gunny Glide, a patent pending process helps to keep the graphene suspended and creates a better environment for even distribution of the graphene.

Gunny Glide continues to get better with use. Works great on knife pivots, firearms, blade surfaces for corrosion protection and much more. It really excels as an all purpose lubricant.

GUNNY
MAGIC

Gunny Magic contains two dry lubricants suspended in a proprietary based liquid lubricant for fast, deep penetration. This proprietary formula also pushes/cleans oils, dirt and debris away from the area being lubricated.

The main dry lubricant is graphene. Molybdenum Disulfide has also been added as a lubricant enhancement. What makes these lubricants different from the lubricants currently being used? Why graphene and MoS2?

Graphene, a single layer of carbon atoms, is 200x stronger than steel and has more lubricity than any single material known. Graphene when suspended in a lubricant and applied to a surface will burnish itself to that surface. It not only fills any pores or defects in a surface but burnishes in a sense to become part of that surface. This allows the lubricant to become better the more two parts slide across one another. Graphene offers superior lubrication and surface wear protection. Gunny Magic also offers outstanding protection against corrosion.

Molybdenum Disulfide is dry/solid lubricant powder, also known as the molybdenite (principal ore from which molybdenum metal is extracted), and has the chemical formula MoS2. It is insoluble in water and dilute acids. Crystal structure is Hexagonal Lamellar and is similar to graphite, Boron Nitride and Tungsten Disulfide. It also has amazing film forming properties and is a super lubricant in moisture free environments below 400° C. MoS2 offers tremendous lubricity properties in inert atmospheres and under high vacuum where other conventional lubricants fail. MoS2 also offers extreme pressure lubricant properties. MoS2 is able to withstand up to 250,000 p.s.i. which makes it extremely effective when used in applications such as cold metal forming. All of these properties make MoS2 an excellent lubricant by itself. When combined with graphene and this liquid carrier you get a lubricant that has superior performance in tight tolerances.

GUNNY
SLIDES

Gunny Slides was made for pistol slides and knife detents in mind. This has a thick oil carrier that transports and holds 3 dry lubricants in place. Graphene, h-BN and Molybdenum Disulfide work synergistically to give a lubricity that isn’t found in any product of this viscosity. How does it work? The oil itself is a carrier that enhances the capabilities of the dry lubricants instantly. Then you have the properties of the dry lubricants that cause this lube to excel.

GUNNY GLOW

Gunny Glow is the world’s first smart cleaner. It cleans without ruining the surface you’re attempting to clean. Gunny Glow is a proprietary blend and process of mixing graphene and TiO2. This cleaner is not a solvent. It breaks bonds on a nano level. This causes dirt, grime, oil, paints etc. to release or let go of the bond they have to a surface. The other substance in the blend act like a sponge or a magnetic and draws the substance into the liquid. Then you take a rag or preferably a microfiber and wipe it clean. If it doesn’t come clean with the first wile spray and repeat. This works while it’s wet. Allowing it to soak is unnecessary. This is a revolutionary cleaner, unlike anything on the market. It doesn’t have harsh chemicals in it. The harshest chemical is isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol). This works like magic front cleaning shoes or stains.

GUNNY
CLOTH

6″ x 1″ Stropping Pad consists of Gunny Cloth composite material with PSA tape for mounting on a empty blank (not included).

Gunny Cloth is polymer matrix with embedded soft metal powders. The addition of Gunny Juice diamond emulsion charges the stropping pad with diamond particles. The embedded diamond grains facilitate stock removal on the work piece. The continuous wear of the bonding over its service life prevents clogging of the pad. The patterned surface helps to improve suspension flow and exchange. The Gunny Cloth stropping pads are designed to work synergistically with Gunny Juice. The pads are designed to wear to prevent loading with steel and debris.
